Selling your current bike

Upgrading? The sale of your old bike can reduce what you need to borrow.

Work out your position first

Find out whether any finance is still owing on your current bike. If it is, the lender usually needs to be paid out when the bike is sold, and you will need to arrange this with them. Ask for a payout figure in writing.

Prep list for a private sale

  • Clean it properly, including the chain, wheels and tank.
  • Gather service records, the owner's manual and spare keys.
  • Take clear photos in daylight from every side.
  • Be upfront about marks, modifications and known faults.
  • Have registration and ID documents ready.

Where to list it

You can list your motorbike on Anything Marketplace to reach buyers directly. Check your state's transfer rules and the buyer's identity before handing over the keys, and avoid accepting payment methods you cannot verify.

Selling or trading in

A trade-in is convenient but may return a different figure to a private sale. Compare both before you decide, and treat any figures as indicative only.

Once you know the likely sale price, you can see how much you may need to borrow for the next bike. You can start a free enquiry whenever you are ready.
